He <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/michaelchobanian\/1518\">said<\/a> this in his Telegram channel.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, holders of hryvnia cards, in particular PrivatBank clients, report difficulties topping up accounts on foreign crypto exchanges in hryvnia. In the bank&#8217;s tech support they refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bank.gov.ua\/admin_uploads\/law\/24022022_18.pdf?v=4\">NBU Resolution of February 24<\/a>, which forbids them, at customers&#8217; instruction, from making cross-border transfers of monetary assets from Ukraine.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThere is no provision for transferring currency funds for use on cryptocurrency exchanges, or for depositing to bank accounts funds obtained on crypto exchanges,\u201d noted PrivBank.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Since the start of the war, the NBU <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nbu-caps-cash-withdrawals-and-fixes-the-hryvnia-exchange-rate\">restricted operations on bank accounts<\/a> and suspended the foreign exchange market. According to Mikhail Chobanian, cashless hryvnia and cryptocurrencies are, in these conditions, the \u201conly bridge connecting Ukraine&#8217;s economy with the outside world.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt is precisely thanks to this bridge that volunteers buy equipment, humanitarian aid and other assistance for Ukraine. If that bridge is also cut, all non-state supplies for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, territorial defense and special units will stop,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chobanian proposes:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>not to limit crypto P2P transfers;<\/li>\n<li>allow banks to perform transfers for individuals related to cryptocurrencies, subject to financial monitoring;<\/li>\n<li>open bank accounts for Ukrainian crypto exchanges and entrust oversight of them to the <span data-descr=\"National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine\" class=\"old_tooltip\">\u041d\u041a\u0426\u0411\u0424\u0420<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The last point was previously outlined by BAU&#8217;s president in a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1gYlL295PclPsiduBQsviLlQ0AOR_iKdi\/edit?rtpof=true&#038;sd=true\">letter to the NBU<\/a>. It was supported by the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tax Service, the Ministry of Finance and a number of companies, but the regulator has not yet issued an official response.<\/p>\n<p>Chobanian urged the community to work together to influence the NBU&#8217;s decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCrypto is the only thing that is saving Ukraine right now,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ForkLog requested comments from the National Bank.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, on March 16 PrivatBank temporarily banned its clients from depositing hryvnias to cryptocurrency exchanges.
