The analysts say that <span data-descr=\"non-fungible tokens\" class=\"old_tooltip\">NFT<\/span>s will represent digital property.<\/p>\n<p><span data-descr=\"central bank digital currency\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CBDC<\/span> could also be used alongside stablecoins. Bitcoin and Ethereum could become the most popular means of settlement in the metaverses, but Citi also envisage the use of stablecoins and CBDC.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abTo reach such a market size, investments in infrastructure will be required: computing, storage, network infrastructure, consumer hardware and game development platforms\u00bb, \u2014 the analysts explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In October 2021, Facebook carried out a major rebranding and renamed itself to Meta for <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/facebook-rebrands-as-meta-nfts-to-feature-in-zuckerbergs-metaverse\">the demonstration of its commitment to building the metaverse<\/a>, which it regards as \u201cthe next stage of the evolution of social connections\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2022, the team behind the meme token <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/shiba-inu-developers-reveal-details-of-metaverse-launch\">Shiba Inu<\/a> and the company behind the NFT collection <span data-descr=\"Bored Ape Yacht Club\" class=\"old_tooltip\">BAYC<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bored-ape-yacht-club-creator-raises-450-million-at-4-billion-valuation\">Yuga Labs<\/a> announced plans to create their own virtual worlds.
