The publication counted a record 19 billionaires in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>With a fortune of $65 billion, Zhao ranked 19th on the list of the world&#8217;s richest people. According to Forbes, he owns at least 70% of the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In second place on the ranking was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/forbes-crypto-billionaire-list-quadruples\">last year&#8217;s leader<\/a> \u2014 co-founder and CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried. In January the exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ftx-raises-400-million-at-a-32-billion-valuation\">raised $400 million<\/a> at a valuation of $32 billion. The entrepreneur&#8217;s personal wealth amounts to $24 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The top three was completed by Coinbase founder and CEO Brian Armstrong, with a fortune of $6.6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The fourth spot on the ranking was taken by FTX co-founder and CTO Gary Wang \u2014 $5.9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The top five was completed by Chris Larsen \u2014 $4.3 billion. The Ripple co-founder and CEO was the only representative not tied to an exchange business.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The top-10 list also includes:<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\\\\\\\"wp-block-list\\\\\\\">\n<li>Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (Gemini) \u2014 $4 billion each;<\/li>\n<li>Song Chi-hyun (Upbit) \u2014 $3.7 billion;<\/li>\n<li>Barry Silbert (Digital Currency Group) \u2014 $3.2 billion;<\/li>\n<li>Jed McCaleb (Ripple and Stellar) \u2014 $2.5 billion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the NFT boom that began in 2021, the co-founders of the largest marketplace in the NFT space, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nft-marketplace-opensea-raises-300-million-at-a-13-billion-valuation\">OpenSea<\/a>, entered the list for the first time. Devin Finzer and Alex Atallah each have a net worth of $2.2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Their fortunes were surpassed by the co-founders of the infrastructure Web3 platform Alchemy, Nikil Vishwanathan and Joseph Lau \u2014 $2.4 billion each.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the list:<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\\\\\\\"wp-block-list\\\\\\\">\n<li>Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam \u2014 $2.1 billion;<\/li>\n<li>Vice president of Dunamu, operator of Upbit, and co-owner of the exchange Kim Hiong Nion \u2014 $1.9 billion;<\/li>\n<li>MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor \u2014 $1.6 billion;<\/li>\n<li>Bloq co-founder Matthew Roszak \u2014 $1.4 billion;<\/li>\n<li>Venture investor Tim Draper \u2014 $1.2 billion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>As reported in November 2021 by China Caijing, Changpeng Zhao&#8217;s fortune was put at <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/journalists-value-changpeng-zhaos-net-worth-at-90-billion\">$90 billion<\/a>.
