This was the view expressed by Brad Garlinghouse, chief executive of blockchain company Ripple, according to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/04\/20\/bitcoin-tribalism-holding-the-crypto-industry-back-ripple-ceo-says.html\\\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In his words, <span data-descr=\\\"A form of social partition characterized by internal closure and exclusivity, usually accompanied by hostility toward other groups.\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">tribalism<\/span> around digital gold is restraining the growth of the wider market. As a former Yahoo executive, Garlinghouse likened the industry to the dot-com era at the turn of the millennium.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;I have Bitcoin, Ethereum, I have a few other things. \u2026 Yahoo can be as successful as eBay. But they solve different problems. There are different use cases, markets and audiences,&#8221; said the head of Ripple.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He conceded that many of these parallels exist in the cryptocurrency industry.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Among notable Bitcoin maximalists are Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor. In April 2022, the latter said that his company<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/michael-saylor-microstrategy-to-continue-expanding-bitcoin-reserves\"> would continue<\/a> its strategy of buying and storing digital gold.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Another entrepreneur \u2014 Elon Musk \u2014 has been actively <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-proposes-paying-for-twitter-blue-with-dogecoin\">supporting<\/a> Dogecoin.
