The latter is expected in the second half of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding how the developed solution differs from other L2 scaling protocols, Scroll co-founder Sandy Pan noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe are equivalent to or native <span data-descr=\"Ethereum Virtual Machine, the Ethereum virtual machine\" class=\"old_tooltip\">EVM<\/span>, according to the Ethereum Foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to her, this means developers can copy the intermediate code of a smart contract from Ethereum and deploy it on Scroll without changes.<\/p>\n<p>She pledged to reveal details of the startup&#8217;s technology in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>In February, the Matter Labs team <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/developers-roll-out-zksync-on-testnet-to-scale-ethereum\">deployed a ZK-Rollup-based solution<\/a> on the Ethereum testnet as the first EVM-compatible L2 protocol.<\/p>\n<p>As noted, Vitalik Buterin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-explains-the-role-of-zk-rollups-in-ethereum-scalability\">designated the ZK-Rollups technology<\/a> as a central element for scaling Ethereum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scroll, an Ethereum scaling project using ZK-Rollups technology, raised $30 million.
