Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expressed optimism about the course of the company’s litigation with the SEC<\/span>, allowing for its conclusion by the end of 2022. He said this in an interview with Fox Business<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The timelines Garlinghouse laid out were described as optimistic. In his view, such an outcome is quite possible.<\/p>\n

The Ripple chief noted the importance of the process for the entire crypto industry, as a court decision will set a precedent:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe case has gone fairly well; there have been many skirmishes around disclosures. But it is clear that the judge understands \u2014 this is an important case and it will set a precedent. We are nearing a decision. Everything will be before the judge by the end of November.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Ripple chief criticized SEC Chair Gary Gensler, saying that many of the theses he has put forward “don\u2019t make much sense”.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe says that \u2018delaying justice means denying justice.\u2019 Nevertheless they filed<\/a> this suit against Ripple and, at every opportunity, tried to drag the case on. We are committed to moving as fast as possible and will continue to push forward at the maximum speed possible,\u201d Garlinghouse said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In January, Joseph Hall, a partner at the law firm Davis Polk and a former SEC official, said the regulator stood a good chance of lose the case on the merits<\/a>. However, he expressed doubt about a quick end to the proceedings.<\/p>\n
