As of May 6, 2022, assets under management for the former <a href=\\\"https:\/\/grayscale.com\/products\/\\\">stood at<\/a> $23.05 billion, and the latter \u2014 $8.29 billion.<\/p>\n<p>GBTC and ETHE are products that give investors access to cryptocurrency without the need to buy digital assets directly. Grayscale charges clients a 2% management fee for running the trusts.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, shares of these structures traded at a significant discount to <span data-descr=\\\"net asset value\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">NAV<\/span>. At the time of writing, GBTC&#8217;s discount stood at <a href=\\\"https:\/\/ycharts.com\/companies\/GBTC\/discount_or_premium_to_nav\\\">24.83%<\/a>, ETHE&#8217;s at <a href=\\\"https:\/\/ycharts.com\/companies\/ETHE\/discount_or_premium_to_nav\\\">26.69%<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Grayscale hopes to solve the problem by converting the trusts into exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
