It is designed to significantly increase the system&#8217;s scalability and remove the need for &#8216;trusted setups&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>ECC noted that thanks to the open\u2011source verification system such protocols as Zcash, &#8220;gain in efficiency and security&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The update also includes Unified Addresses \u2014 a format that gives users a single Zcash address compatible with all existing pools.<\/p>\n<p>ZEC hardly reacted to the news of the upgrade activation. At the time of writing, the price hovered around $93. In that time, developers rolled out upgrades Overwinter, Sapling, Blossom and Heartwood, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/zcash-network-records-its-first-halving-as-canopy-upgrade-activates\">Canopy update<\/a> and a halving.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Electric Coin Company published <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/zcash-developers-unveil-roadmap-to-2025\">project roadmap to 2025<\/a>.
