American Forbes surveyed<\/a> 65 of the world’s wealthiest people and found that nearly 30% of them invest in crypto assets.<\/p>\n

The publication noted that this figure is higher than among investors who do not possess billionaire wealth.<\/p>\n

About 18% of respondents said they hold at least 1% of their fortune in cryptocurrencies. Most of them invest in the industry as a test.<\/p>\n

80% of those who invested in cryptocurrencies among the billionaires said they invested less than a tenth of their fortune. 3.2% of respondents invested more than half of their fortune in digital assets.<\/p>\n

Another 10% said they did not invest directly in cryptocurrencies but supported industry-focused companies.<\/p>\n

One of the survey participants, Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of the FTX exchange, said that 76% to 100% of his capital, amounting to $20.6 billion, is in crypto assets.<\/p>\n

Billionaires are increasingly entering the industry. For example, Mark Cuban, who previously criticised Bitcoin, now actively invests in cryptocurrencies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It’s no different from investing in stocks, bonds, and other assets. My tech stocks have performed worse than my cryptocurrency,” he told Forbes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Real estate magnate John Sobrato has said that he invests not directly in digital currencies, but in a crypto-focused fund run by Andreessen Horowitz. He says this is how he gets involved in the industry while avoiding \\”brain overload from participating in an asset class you don’t understand\\”.<\/p>\n

Experts say that billionaires are well suited to experimenting with cryptocurrencies and have the resources to do so:<\/p>\n

“They are not as concerned about what happens to Bitcoin’s price next month.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
