{"id":62690,"date":"2022-06-09T15:35:30","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T12:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=62690"},"modified":"2025-09-05T19:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T16:30:00","slug":"nft-marketplace-opensea-tightens-measures-to-combat-fraud-and-plagiarism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/nft-marketplace-opensea-tightens-measures-to-combat-fraud-and-plagiarism\/","title":{"rendered":"NFT marketplace OpenSea tightens measures to combat fraud and plagiarism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The leading NFT marketplace OpenSea has rolled out a suite of measures to guard against plagiarism, IP infringements and fraud, according to its co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">At <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/opensea?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@opensea<\/a>, we feel a huge responsibility to ensure our users are safe, while providing expansive access to the NFT ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>I want to share my views on our many efforts to protect against plagiarism, IP infringement, and fraud. \ud83d\udc47<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/S2Krco2yW8\">https:\/\/t.co\/S2Krco2yW8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Devin Finzer (dfinzer.eth) (@dfinzer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dfinzer\/status\/1534587175471153154?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 8, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to him, in the first half of 2022 the marketplace built several important technical systems that help the team promote authentic content and reduce the amount of fraudulent activity.<\/p>\n<p>Among the solutions implemented, he listed:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a new verification mechanism that more clearly identifies authentic accounts;<\/li>\n<li>a copy-protection tool using image-recognition technology to scan NFTs and detect duplicates;<\/li>\n<li>an improved search system that optimised the results for users of authentic content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other product improvements in this direction included:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In-Product Reporting \u2014 helps OpenSea specialists respond to user reports about suspicious items;
