{"id":64338,"date":"2022-07-13T14:18:18","date_gmt":"2022-07-13T11:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=64338"},"modified":"2025-09-06T13:54:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T10:54:33","slug":"ukraine-seizes-50-million-hryvnias-and-nearly-a-tonne-of-silver-from-suspects-in-crypto-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/ukraine-seizes-50-million-hryvnias-and-nearly-a-tonne-of-silver-from-suspects-in-crypto-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine Seizes 50 Million Hryvnias and Nearly a Tonne of Silver from Suspects in Crypto Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Asset Recovery Agency (ARMA) was handed over 50 million hryvnias and 830 kg of silver, seized from suspects in cryptocurrency market fraud. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gp.gov.ua\/ua\/posts\/prokuratura-peredala-arma-50-mln-grn-830-kg-sribla-ta-neruxomist-grupi-osib-pricetnix-do-maxinacii-na-rinku-kriptovalyut\">\u0441\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0449\u0430\u0435\u0442<\/a> the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The Darnytskyi District Prosecutor&#8217;s Office of Kyiv, with the participation of <span data-descr=\"Security Service of Ukraine\" class=\"old_tooltip\">\u0421\u0411\u0423<\/span>, is conducting a criminal proceeding into the unlawful use by a group of individuals of resources for the exchange of electronic funds.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigators, the suspects helped users from the Russian Federation and the so-called L\/DNR to convert cash and cashless funds into cryptocurrencies without paying taxes and for subsequent laundering.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators conducted searches, seizing 830 kg of bank silver bars and about 50 million hryvnias in various currencies \u2014 \u20ac850,000, $470,000 and \u20b4460,000 \u2014 on which a seizure was subsequently imposed.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, at the prosecutor&#8217;s request, six land plots totaling more than 6 hectares and three apartments totaling 380 sq m were arrested, belonging to the suspects.
