The Block reports, citing its own sources.<\/p>\n<p>The layoffs affected roughly 8% of the company&#8217;s workforce, based on its LinkedIn profile, where it currently lists 310 people.<\/p>\n<p>The project is known for the blockchain games Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians, as well as its own Ethereum-<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-layer%e2%80%912-solution-in-blockchain\">second-layer protocol<\/a> Immutable X.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources cited by the publication, the majority of the cuts affected the Gods Unchained flagship product team and the recruiting division.<\/p>\n<p>The layoffs at Immutable were confirmed by the industry outlet Kotaku. Journalists noted that one of the game&#8217;s lead developers announced on Twitter that they were seeking work. We hate losing members of our team and will ensure a smooth transition for those affected by the reorganization. Immutable started the year with 120 employees and now counts 280,&#8221; the studio said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In September 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nft-startup-immutable-raises-12-5-million-in-under-an-hour\">Immutable raised $12.5 million<\/a> in an IMX token sale on the CoinList platform. The sale ended in less than an hour.<\/p>\n<p>In the same month the company closed a Series B funding round <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nft-startup-immutable-raises-60-million-in-series-b-funding\">of $60 million<\/a>. It was led by Bitkraft Ventures and King River Capital.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2022 Immutable <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nft-startup-immutable-raises-200m-at-a-2-5bn-valuation\">raised $200 million<\/a> as part of a Series C round valuing the company at $2.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In June the company announced the launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-startup-immutable-launches-a-500-million-fund-focused-on-web3-games\">an ecosystem fund of $500 million<\/a> to finance Web3 game developers and NFT-focused startups built on Immutable X. Earlier, a similar structure <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/kongregate-and-immutable-launch-40-million-fund-to-support-blockchain-games\">with a budget of $40 million<\/a> was created by the firm in partnership with the gaming portal Kongregate.<\/p>\n<p>In February the American retailer GameStop <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/gamestop-unveils-nft-marketplace-and-immutable-partnership\">announced the launch of an NFT marketplace<\/a> based on Immutable&#8217;s L2 solution.
