Co-founder Mark Lee noted that the funding would give brand owners full control over their intellectual property.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hacker-forges-beeple-nft-sold-for-69-3m\">a hacker created counterfeit copies<\/a> of Beeple&#8217;s NFT that sold for $69.3 million, to debunk the myth of the NFT&#8217;s uniqueness and security.<\/p>\n<p>In spring 2021, luxury goods makers LVMH and Cartier, together with Italian fashion house Prada, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/lvmh-prada-and-cartier-to-deploy-blockchain-to-curb-counterfeiting\">created the Aura blockchain consortium<\/a> to combat counterfeits of luxury items.<\/p>\n<p>According to OpenSea, more than 80% of NFTs minted via the free mint option <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/opensea-more-than-80-of-free-mint-nfts-were-plagiarised-or-spam\">were plagiarised, counterfeit, or spam<\/a>.
