He is directly charged with laundering more than $400,000 through cryptocurrencies in July 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant is due to appear in court in Portland on October 4. He faces up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>On 2 November 2021, Denis Dubnikov <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/co-founder-of-bitcoin-exchanges-coyote-crypto-and-eggchange-remanded-in-custody\">was arrested<\/a> in the Netherlands at the FBI&#8217;s request.<\/p>\n<p>Three knowledgeable sources confirmed Bloomberg&#8217;s information about an investigation into EggChange being conducted in the United States and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2018, the creators of the Ryuk ransomware have attacked at least <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/235-us-hospitals-fall-victim-to-ryuk-ransomware-attackers\">235 hospitals and psychiatric inpatient facilities in the United States<\/a>, demanding a ransom to restore files.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020 alone, hackers received about <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/whatsapp-troubles-150-million-for-ryuk-operators-and-other-cybersecurity-news\">$150 million in cryptocurrency<\/a>.
