The reasons for the cuts were not disclosed, and workers were not given explanations about the changes.<\/p>\n<p>During a hastily scheduled video call, unnamed Accenture representatives told the contractors that they had been selected &#8216;accidentally&#8217; using the algorithm.<\/p>\n<p>Those affected by the cuts were told they could reapply and interview for new positions within the firm.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook declined to comment on the situation, while an Accenture spokesperson denied the fact of &#8216;firing&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The layoffs come amid unprecedented difficulties for Meta. Earlier, Chief Product Officer Chris Cox <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.io\/meta-obyavila-o-trudnostyah-fifa-sozdala-detektor-ofsajdov-i-drugie-novosti-iz-mira-ii\/#meta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> staff about &#8216;upcoming financial difficulties&#8217; linked to privacy-policy changes and macroeconomic headwinds.<\/p>\n<p>The company also disclosed for the first time in its history a revenue decline for the second quarter of 2022.
