The film premieres on August 24.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on Herrera&#8217;s claim of an alleged call from McAfee after his death, Russell said he did not have a definitive view on the matter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cShe says this, then looks into the camera, and I can&#8217;t tell whether she&#8217;s sure it&#8217;s true,\u201d he said in an Esquire interview.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the New York Post, McAfee ended his relationship with Herrera in 2012. But if that were so, I am sure John would not be hiding in Texas. He was kept in a Spanish prison because of fabricated charges against him by the Internal Revenue Service, so hiding in America would be foolish,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As previously reported, McAfee <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sec-files-suit-against-john-mcafee-he-has-been-arrested\">was arrested in October 2020<\/a> in Spain at the request of U.S. authorities. <span data-descr=\"Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> accused the entrepreneur of deceiving investors in promoting ICO projects, and the Justice Department \u2014 of tax evasion. In 2021, McAfee <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/john-mcafee-faces-up-to-100-years-in-prison-on-fraud-and-money-laundering-charges\">was charged with fraud and money laundering<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The entrepreneur himself described the case against him as <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/john-mcafee-says-the-case-against-him-is-an-attack-by-the-us-on-all-cryptocurrencies\">an attack on all cryptocurrencies<\/a> and said the charges <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/john-mcafee-says-u-s-charges-against-him-are-politically-motivated\">were politically motivated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2021, Spain&#8217;s Supreme Court allowed McAfee&#8217;s extradition to the United States.
