According to the Ethereum founder, 90% of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Gitcoin fund for grant payments, and 10% to the publisher Seven Stories Press.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/hsQLi-QLtXya9l2ZdvX4IzQ0rBab8WAixE3cD7D1FD3xKOtI4WGjbI8PBm-TQpbyyOMl5ZzPT1gRzecvN-2if4gqwXU9KtWqlvVJPzNkCg3F_VnBtDaaKLzToV7UzaHFyFNl1uLcSP700fo76E1298Kx-tamYA9BhC1crO6yvlYtL06ZFDnMH3zyJg\" alt=\"Vitalik Buterin Announces Book 'Proof of Stake'\"\/><figcaption>Source: digital edition page.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On August 11, Ethereum developers successfully <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-switch-goerli-testnet-to-proof-of-stake\">migrated<\/a> the Goerli testnet to the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-the-proof-of-work-pow-algorithm\">Proof-of-Stake<\/a> (PoS). Before that, a similar event occurred on the test networks <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-team-migrates-ropsten-testnet-to-proof-of-stake-consensus\">Ropsten<\/a> and Sepolia.<\/p>\n<p>The Kiln and Rinkeby testnets will not be migrated to PoS. After the mainnet migration <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-to-scale-back-number-of-test-networks\">shut down<\/a>, as will Ropsten.<\/p>\n<p>According to the team&#8217;s plans, around September 6 the Bellatrix <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-drop-eth1-and-eth2-terminology\">&#8216;consensus layer&#8217;<\/a> upgrade (Beacon Chain). The activation <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereums-move-to-proof-of-stake-pos-what-you-need-to-know\">The Merge<\/a> is scheduled for <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-narrow-the-timeline-for-the-switch-to-proof-of-stake\">September 15\u201316<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As noted, Buterin said that after the transition to PoS the network could reach a throughput of <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/buterin-foresees-ethereum-throughput-of-100000-tps\">100,000<\/a> <span data-descr=\"transactions per second\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TPS<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In August JPMorgan said that with The Merge activation <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/jpmorgan-the-merge-will-hit-ethereum-miners\">miners will have to seek alternative sources of income<\/a>.
