This simplifies Helium\u2019s blockchain needs, improving scalability, speed, and reliability. The solution is intended to reduce the requirements on Helium&#8217;s blockchain, improve speed and reliability, and enable the transition to Solana.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSolana is a first-level blockchain that focuses on scalability and speed. The Solana Proof-of-History consensus algorithm allows transactions to be confirmed in the network lightning-fast without compromising security,\u201d the team said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>With regard to the proposal to forgo developing its own blockchain, the Helium team explained that in recent years it has largely operated in firefighting mode. Over that period, a number of first-level network options emerged that could form the basis for the project.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cRather than spending time and effort on improving Helium&#8217;s blockchain, it has become clear that the community could benefit from the developments and the aggregate resources of a larger ecosystem,\u201d the developers stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After the anticipated migration to Solana, HNT and Data Credits token transfers, as well as identity management, will be conducted.<\/p>\n<p>The use of oracles will save validators\u2019 fees (6.85% of HNT issuance) for the benefit of access-point owners.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/_NhUUveH9y93Kbnt6PeZ8ANPZFOI7C0hdHzjpY0-T9Dd6evs6u53yGDPzPYRLpF942RhKYaPQbJnQMCQlP6sYUTFiHz9EX_2y2UuEWroQCPhkrHrk0cDc9FdKCkxxP0VK7IBvb2kuuWgv52mPMiJv2ks3NXbr01Lae5LykLjKPP4I5HZ6yCT9IS8Bw\" alt=\"Helium project announces migration to Solana\"\/><figcaption>Changes proposed in HIP-70.
