At the moment of The Merge activation they will merge into a panda.<\/p>\n<p>Sam Padilla, a Google Cloud developer, first spoke about the feature. He said the team built the timer in two weeks. It is meant to show appreciation to the Ethereum team for \\&#8221;the work they have been doing over the years\\&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Padilla noted that the timer&#8217;s data is sourced in real time from the Ethereum network using nodes hosted at Google.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A couple of us inspired the idea and the search team went to work.<\/p>\n<p>The underlying data is getting pulled directly from the blockchain via some of the nodes we run.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sam Padilla (@theSamPadilla) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theSamPadilla\/status\/1568355305515261958?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 9, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The completion of The Merge is planned for around September 15-16.<\/p>\n<p>Last week the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-narrow-the-timeline-for-the-switch-to-proof-of-stake\">Ethereum activated the Bellatrix upgrade<\/a>.
