The metaverse-focused company MyMetaverse has integrated non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its own Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto 5 servers. The news comes from Cointelegraph<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Mojang Studios, the team behind Minecraft, said “do not support and do not permit”<\/a> the integration of blockchain and NFT technology into the game.<\/p>\n

“We wanted to show Mojang that this could be done to benefit them and the players,” said MyMetaverse CEO Simon Kertonegoro.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to him, the company can deploy NFTs on its own servers without breaching the license agreement. Kertonegoro explained that MyMetaverse had made “its best NFTs” free.<\/p>\n

He also spoke about the compatibility of non-fungible tokens across Minecraft, GTA 5, and the company’s Infinity Realm project.<\/p>\n

“These different games see NFTs on users’ wallets and give them various advantages. In Minecraft it’s a sword, in GTA \u2014 a car, in Infinity Realm \u2014 a house,” explained Kertonegoro.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Earlier in August, Xbox head Phil Spencer expressed optimism<\/a> about the development of virtual worlds.<\/p>\n
