{"id":67487,"date":"2022-09-21T16:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-21T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=67487"},"modified":"2025-09-07T06:52:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T03:52:08","slug":"eos-community-activates-leap-3-1-update-to-the-antelope-protocol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/eos-community-activates-leap-3-1-update-to-the-antelope-protocol\/","title":{"rendered":"EOS Community Activates Leap 3.1 Update to the Antelope Protocol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On September 21, block producers in the Antelope protocol (a fork of an earlier EOS network) carried out a coordinated hard fork to implement Leap 3.1, according to a press release seen by ForkLog.<\/p>\n<p>All node operators were advised to update their software.<\/p>\n<p>Antelope uses as its basis the code of EOSIO 2.0 stable and borrows components from EOSIO 2.1 and EOSIO 2.2.<\/p>\n<p>The team also added several new features, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\\\"wp-block-list\\\">\n<li>improvement of the transaction lifecycle;<\/li>\n<li>updated cryptographic primitives that support <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-the-ethereum-virtual-machine-evm\"> EVM<\/a>-related cryptographic functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project code was opened to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>According to Arek Ayrapetyan, ENF\u2019s Chief Development Officer, Leap 3.1 marks an important milestone in the community\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n<p>In mid-2021, the network-launching Block.one ceased its support. ENF took steps to extend the project&#8217;s life. One initiative was Mandel\u2019s shared codebase, in the creation of which <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/dan-larimer-to-help-the-eos-community-take-control-of-the-project\">Dan Larimer<\/a> contributed under contract.<\/p>\n<p>ENF engineers continued their work on the project. In March, teams from Telos, Wax and UX Network joined the coalition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/eos-community-launches-antelope-blockchain-project\">Launch of Antelope<\/a> was the result of joint efforts by developers and Mandel\u2019s rebranding.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The success of a blockchain is defined by the unity of its community. In EOS, it had to endure a great deal over the past several years. Without a strong sense of unity in pursuing a common ambitious goal, the project would not be where it is today&#8221;<\/em>, \u2014 said Kris Barnes of The Guardian, Helios and Telos Foundation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ENF intends to recover <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/eos-network-foundation-to-seek-4-1-billion-from-block-one\">$4.1 billion<\/a> from Block.one through court action.
