This was stated by JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon at a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, according to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/markets.businessinsider.com\/news\/currencies\/jpmorgan-jamie-dimon-bitcoin-crypto-blockchain-regulation-crime-ponzi-scheme-2022-9\\\">Business Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI am a great sceptic of digital tokens that you call currency, particularly Bitcoin. These are decentralised Ponzi schemes, and the notion that this benefits anyone is simply unbelievable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dimon said that cryptocurrencies facilitate various illicit practices such as money laundering. He stressed that these assets pose a threat.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the JPMorgan head acknowledged that \u201creal\u201d technologies, such as DeFi and utility tokens, can be useful. In particular, he stated that he would not object to the emergence of a regulated stablecoin.<\/p>\n<p>Dimon reminded that the financial conglomerate has its own digital token \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/jpmorgan-revives-jpm-coin-stablecoin-project\">JPM Coin<\/a>.
