It seems like a complete failure of their current format,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>To back up his words, Buterin attached a screenshot of a verified account renamed to vitalik.eth. The profile name matches that of the Ethereum cofounder; only the handle differs. The \u201cclone\u201d allegedly conducts an ETH airdrop.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI definitely think it makes sense to move Twitter to an open <span data-descr=\"application programming interface\" class=\"old_tooltip\">API<\/span> and allow third parties to try to build the best user interface to solve these problems,\u201d wrote Buterin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/wave-of-twitter-scams-impersonating-vitalik-buterin-as-the-merge-approaches\">flooded with fake profiles<\/a> of the Ethereum cofounder, which advertised fraudulent cryptocurrency airdrops on the eve of <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-activates-the-merge-blockchain-shifts-to-pos\">the activation of The Merge<\/a>. That prompted Buterin to mock the situation.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in April, Elon Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-proposes-over-43-billion-to-buy-twitter\">proposed to buy Twitter<\/a> for $43 billion. Initially, Twitter\u2019s leadership <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.io\/v-twitter-vnedrili-plan-po-zashhine-ot-pogloshheniya-ilona-maska\/\">\u043d\u0435 \u043e\u0446\u0435\u043d\u0438\u043b\u043e<\/a> \u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u043b\u043e\u0436\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0435, but later <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/media-twitter-revisits-elon-musks-takeover-bid\">reconsidered<\/a> its position, approving the deal <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-to-buy-twitter-for-44-billion-as-dogecoin-jumps-24\">at $44 billion<\/a>. Buterin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-backs-elon-musks-twitter-takeover\">supported<\/a> the idea of acquiring the company.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-halts-twitter-acquisition\">paused<\/a> the deal after reports of inflated audience metrics for the social network. Twitter shareholders <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/twitter-shareholders-sue-elon-musk-over-market-manipulation\">filed a lawsuit against him<\/a> over the \u201cchaotic process\u201d of the acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>In July the billionaire announced the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-terminates-deal-to-buy-twitter\">termination of the deal<\/a> to acquire the social network.
