{"id":68506,"date":"2022-10-13T09:54:36","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T06:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=68506"},"modified":"2025-09-07T14:26:59","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T11:26:59","slug":"blockchain-com-secures-singapore-license","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/blockchain-com-secures-singapore-license\/","title":{"rendered":"Blockchain.com secures Singapore license"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The exchange and wallet operator Blockchain.com<a href=\\\"https:\/\/medium.com\/blockchain\/blockchain-com-receives-in-principle-approval-from-monetary-authority-of-singapore-a945a9401f93\\\"> has received<\/a> preliminary approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to provide digital asset-related services.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO and co-founder Peter Smith noted a &#8216;transparent regulatory process&#8217; in the city-state.<\/p>\n<p>Blockchain.com regards Singapore as an attractive jurisdiction for investing in the development of services for institutional clients.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, MAS granted licenses to digital payment token service providers including DBS Vickers, Independent Reserve, FOMO Pay, Revolut and others.<\/p>\n<p>On 11 October of the same year, the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-secures-singapore-payment-services-license\"> achieved<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2022 Blockchain.com<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-receives-provisional-approval-to-operate-in-dubai\"> obtained<\/a> preliminary authorization to operate from the Dubai Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority.<\/p>\n<p>In July the company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-com-trims-a-quarter-of-its-workforce\"> laid off<\/a> a quarter of its staff.<\/p>\n<p>The decisions followed against the backdrop of<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/media-blockchain-com-faces-270m-hit-from-three-arrows-capital\"> possible losses of $270 million<\/a>, previously provided as loans to the hedge fund Three Arrows Capital.
