By September, the figure reached 15,433, surpassing the values of any other network, including Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>In August, developers made 14,930 commits, and in September they set a new historical high. This was not deterred by the negative conditions in the crypto market.<\/p>\n<p>Record-high activity was recorded in<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/polkadot-developers-unveil-cross-chain-solution-for-the-ecosystem\"> XCM<\/a> messaging system \u2014 in August the figure reached 26,258, according to<a href=\"https:\/\/polkadot.subscan.io\/\"> Polkadot Subscan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The team linked this to the opening of new channels between parachains to boost functional interoperability and create new use cases.<\/p>\n<p>In total, since the inception of XCM, more than 140,000 messages have passed across 135 channels.<\/p>\n<p>In Kusama&#8217;s testnet the number of active parachains reached 40, while in Polkadot it stood at 26.<\/p>\n<p>During the third quarter, the Web3 Foundation&#8217;s grant program supported 37 projects. Their total number since its launch has approached 500.<\/p>\n<p>The Polkadot treasury allocated more than 9.6 million DOT for spending proposals. In Kusama, the figure stood at 346,700 KSM.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;In the third quarter, fundamental metrics, such as the number of validators, the percentage of coins staked from the total supply, and the minimum data required to launch an active validator [\u2026], confirmed a functioning and healthy ecosystem&#8221;<\/em>, \u2014 according to a Messari report.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier in September, Polkadot developers presented<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/parity-technologies-unveils-polkadot-roadmap\"> a roadmap<\/a>, which contains the first set of major optimizations to the consensus protocol since its launch in December 2021.
