{"id":68840,"date":"2022-10-19T18:09:52","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T15:09:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=68840"},"modified":"2025-09-07T16:31:42","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T13:31:42","slug":"israel-to-trial-tokenised-bonds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/israel-to-trial-tokenised-bonds\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel to trial tokenised bonds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Israeli Ministry of Finance and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange have launched a pilot project to tokenize bonds called Eden. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themarker.com\/markets\/2022-10-19\/ty-article\/.premium\/00000183-eeaa-dfb9-a5f7-efaa3b290000\"> The Marker<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Participating in testing of the blockchain platform will be custodial-services provider Fireblocks, the software developer VMware, and unnamed banks.<\/p>\n<p>The tests will begin in the coming days and are due to be completed by early 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot is expected to demonstrate cost reductions, improved issuance and clearing procedures for government bonds, greater transparency of processes, and reduced risks.<\/p>\n<p>Participating banks will receive tokenised financial instruments to wallets via the project&#8217;s platform. They will transfer funds in digital currencies to the government of Israel.
