The figures are from the company\u2019s third-quarter performance report.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In the latest XRP Markets report, we discuss Ripple\u2019s XRP holdings (now <50% of total supply), the state of global crypto regulation \ud83c\udf0e, macroeconomic moves and On-Demand Liquidity continued domination. \ud83d\udc47 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sKSN5g9I5C\">https:\/\/t.co\/sKSN5g9I5C<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ripple (@Ripple) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ripple\/status\/1585776359258873856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 27, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The fintech startup runs only four of more than 130 nodes in the XRP Ledger (XRPL).<\/p>\n<p>The figures presented come in response to claims of a high degree of centralisation of the project.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u00abXRP Ledger (XRPL) uses<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/stellar.org\/blog\/stellar-consensus-protocol-proof-code\"><em> federated Byzantine consensus<\/em><\/a><em> to validate transactions, add new features and ensure network security. This means that each validator gets one vote regardless of how much XRP it holds\u00bb<\/em>, \u2014 the report says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>During July\u2013September the fintech startup&#8217;s total XRP sales amounted to $310.7 million ($408.9 million in Q2).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u00abRipple continues to sell XRP only in tandem with On-Demand Liquidity (<span data-descr=\"On-Demand Liquidity \u2014 service for providing liquidity for fiat-currency transactions.\" class=\"old_tooltip\">ODL<\/span>). The volumes of the cross-border payments service have increased as this line of business expands\u00bb<\/em>, \u2014 the document explains.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In Q3 the firm forged a partnership with forex dealer Travelex to facilitate payments between Brazil and Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Ripple Labs also commented on the longstanding dispute with the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span>. In October the firm<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ripple-obtains-internal-sec-documents-on-hinman-speech\"> received internal documents<\/a> from the regulator regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/news\/speech\/speech-hinman-061418\"> \u0440\u0435\u0447\u0438<\/a> by the former director of the regulator&#8217;s corporate finance division William Hinman.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u00abThe SEC continues to deliberately sow ambiguity rather than provide clear guidance. This approach is used to justify coercive actions to suppress innovation in the United States\u00bb<\/em>, \u2014 the report says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In October, the Ripple team <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/xrp-developers-to-launch-an-evm-compatible-sidechain\">began testing<\/a> <span data-descr=\"Ethereum Virtual Machine, the Ethereum Virtual Machine\" class=\"old_tooltip\">EVM<\/span>-compatible sidechain.<\/p>\n<p>In March the firm <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ripple-to-allocate-over-794-million-to-xrp-ledger-ecosystem-development-program\">promised to allocate 1 billion XRP<\/a> to the XRP Ledger ecosystem development program.
