The cryptocurrency exchange Binance has opened its seventh entity in Ireland as part of its expansion into Europe. This is evidenced by data<\/a> from the local Companies Registration Office.<\/p>\n

Binance Global Sourcing will become the seventh company registered in this jurisdiction. Journalists from The Irish Independent could not determine<\/a> the purpose of establishing the entity.<\/p>\n

Earlier the exchange invited<\/a> the former top executive of State Street and WisdomTree Asset Management, Karl Long, to serve as chief executive of Binance Global Sourcing.<\/p>\n

The director of the other local companies is the platform’s CEO, Changpeng Zhao.<\/p>\n

In October 2021, Reuters reported<\/a> that Binance Ireland was being considered as one of the regional headquarters as part of its move away from a decentralized business model<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier the exchange obtained licences from regulators Cyprus<\/a>, Spain<\/a>, France<\/a> and Italy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In November 2021, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said he intended to obtain approval from the British FCA<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In March 2022, the Gemini became the holder of a licence<\/a> as an electronic money operator from the Central Bank of Ireland. In July the company received approval<\/a> from the regulator to operate as a provider of services on the digital assets market.<\/p>\n
