{"id":69557,"date":"2022-11-04T12:14:55","date_gmt":"2022-11-04T10:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=69557"},"modified":"2025-09-07T20:43:41","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T17:43:41","slug":"bitmain-announces-world-summit-on-digital-mining","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/bitmain-announces-world-summit-on-digital-mining\/","title":{"rendered":"Bitmain announces World Summit on Digital Mining"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From 8 to 10 November, mining-hardware manufacturer Bitmain will host the World Summit <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bitmain.com\/wdms\/wdmsGlobal\\\">WDMS Global 2022<\/a> in Cancun, Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Leading global companies and notable organisations will participate, including Foundry, Core Scientific, Tether, S&#038;P Dow Jones Indices, Merkle Standard, CryptoOne, MINTO LAB DMCC, Jsbit, Atlas and Starbase.<\/p>\n<p>The summit will discuss the role of stablecoins and the legality of equity-based mining, present a study on the financialisation of digital assets, and assess the potential for cryptocurrency mining in Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>Among the speakers:<\/p>\n<ul class=\\\"wp-block-list\\\">\n<li>Paolo Ardoino, Chief Technology Officer, Tether;<\/li>\n<li>Sharon Libowitz, Senior Director of Innovation and Strategy, S&#038;P Dow Jones Indices;<\/li>\n<li>Kyle Snipes, Director of Public Policy, Foundry;<\/li>\n<li>Patricio Rodr\u00edguez, Chief Executive Officer, Southbit;<\/li>\n<li>Paul Steiner, President of El Salvador&#8217;s National Commission for Small and Micro Businesses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, WDMS Global 2022 will bring together <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-the-proof-of-work-pow-algorithm\">PoW<\/a>-miners from Litecoin, Ethereum Classic, Dogecoin, Nervos, Kadena and Ergo.<\/p>\n<p>Porter Stowell, Director of Community at the Filecoin Foundation, will talk about environmental initiatives in blockchain technology applications. Haitian Lu, professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will present a talk on the carbon neutrality of Bitcoin mining. Renowned Chinese NFT artist Ting Song will share experiences in creating non-fungible tokens.<\/p>\n<p>During the summit Bitmain will unveil the new miner Cancun S19 XP Hyd.
