{"id":69605,"date":"2022-11-05T10:28:19","date_gmt":"2022-11-05T08:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=69605"},"modified":"2025-09-07T21:01:53","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T18:01:53","slug":"tim-draper-repeats-his-bitcoin-forecast-of-250000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/tim-draper-repeats-his-bitcoin-forecast-of-250000\/","title":{"rendered":"Tim Draper repeats his Bitcoin forecast of $250,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Billionaire Tim Draper, during a talk at Web Summit 2022, forecast that the price of the first cryptocurrency would rise to $250,000 by mid-2023. <a href=\\\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/113546\/billionaire-tim-draper-bitcoin-good-hedge-against-bad-governance\\\">Decrypt<\/a> reports this.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Draper predicted Bitcoin at $250,000 by 2022; in the summer of 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tim-draper-reaffirms-forecast-that-bitcoin-will-reach-250000\">expanded the forecast<\/a> to early 2023, and now he has extended it by another six months.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He also described digital gold as insurance against poor governance and noted that cryptocurrencies hamper governments from controlling the population.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cYou have seen how speculation has left Bitcoin. Only hodlers remain, they are passionate about it. They say this creates a freer and more trusting world. [Bitcoin \u2014] it is a fair currency, not tied to banks and governments. It is decentralised,\u201d the billionaire explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Draper believes that the main driver of the next bull market will be women, as they control about 80% of retail spending.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cYou cannot yet buy food, clothing and housing with Bitcoin, but once you can, there will be no reason to hold fiat currency,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, former BitMEX CEO Arthur Hayes named the driver of the next bull market as <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/arthur-hayes-envisions-chinas-return-to-the-crypto-industry-via-hong-kong\">the return of China to the crypto industry<\/a>.
