In such a scenario the platform would consider other options \u2014 issuing its own token and raising capital.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Vauld<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/peter-thiel-backed-crypto-lending-platform-vauld-suspends-operations\"> announced the suspension of operations<\/a> and a possible restructuring amid financial difficulties. <\/p>\n<p>Subsequent media reports, citing court documents, found that the platform&#8217;s outstanding debt stood at $402 million<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/media-vauld-crypto-lending-platform-owes-402-million-to-creditors\"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On July 5, competitor <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/smi-nexo-dogovorilsya-o-priobretenii-kriptolendingovoj-platformy-vauld\/\">Nexo signed with Vauld<\/a> a preliminary agreement to acquire. In September the company <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nexo-outlines-timeline-for-vauld-acquisition-decision\">decided to extend<\/a> the timelines of due diligence for another month, in October \u2014 again<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/media-nexo-again-extends-decision-deadline-for-vauld-acquisition\"> without specifying a date<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In August Vauld <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/vauld-wins-temporary-creditor-protection\">secured temporary protection<\/a> from creditors \u2014 the court granted the platform a moratorium until 7 November.
