The platform says that user assets were not affected, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2022\/11\/26\/major-canadian-crypto-exchange-coinsquare-says-client-data-breached\/\">CoinDesk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In an email to clients, the exchange said it was an &#8216;data incident&#8217; in which a third party gained unauthorized access to users&#8217; personal information.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the attackers obtained &#8216;names, email addresses, residential addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, wallets, transaction histories and account balances&#8217; of customers.<\/p>\n<p>On November 19, the exchange paused operations, including withdrawals, after detecting the vulnerability.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Earlier this morning, we detected unusual activity on our platform and out of an abundance of caution, we decided to undergo an unscheduled maintenance period while we address this issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Coinsquare (@Coinsquare) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Coinsquare\/status\/1594024708097179648?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEarlier this morning we detected unusual activity on our platform and, for security reasons, decided to conduct unscheduled maintenance while we address this issue,\u201d the team said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She assured that &#8220;100% of client funds are safely stored in cold wallets&#8221; and were not affected by the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Developers restored platform functionality only by November 26. Users still do not have access to the transaction history. The team says it will restore the feature soon.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Full service has been restored on web and mobile, including fiat and crypto deposits\/withdrawals.
