{"id":70688,"date":"2022-11-28T16:19:07","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T14:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=70688"},"modified":"2025-09-08T03:43:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T00:43:32","slug":"kiln-raises-more-than-e17-million-about-17-8-million-from-kraken-and-consensys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/kiln-raises-more-than-e17-million-about-17-8-million-from-kraken-and-consensys\/","title":{"rendered":"Kiln raises more than \u20ac17 million (about $17.8 million) from Kraken and ConsenSys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kiln, a staking platform, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20221128005157\/en\/Kiln-Announces-%E2%82%AC17-Million-in-Funding-to-Expand-Staking-Offering\\\">closed<\/a> a Series A round of \u20ac17 million (about $17.8 million) with participation from the venture arm of the bitcoin exchange Kraken and ConsenSys.<\/p>\n<p>The startup was also backed by Illuminate Financial, GSR Ventures, Leadblock Partners, Sparkle Ventures, XBTO and existing investors, including 3KVC, Blue Yard Capital, SV Angel and Alven.<\/p>\n<p>Kiln expects geometric growth in demand for <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-staking-and-how-to-make-money-from-it\">staking<\/a> ETH following the mainnet <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-ethereum-eth\">Ethereum<\/a>&#8216;s transition to the consensus algorithm <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/proof-of-stake-how-it-works-and-why-it-is-so-popular\">Proof-of-Stake<\/a> as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-activates-the-merge-blockchain-shifts-to-pos\">The Merge<\/a> update in September.<\/p>\n<p>The Paris-based startup will use the funds to expand its product line. Co-founder and CEO Laszlo Szabo declined to disclose the platform&#8217;s valuation but noted strong growth in the metric.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, analytics firm Nansen reported that four cryptocurrency platforms <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nansen-four-platforms-control-more-than-61-of-staked-ethereum\">control over 61% of Ethereum in staking<\/a>.
