On December 22, Guggenheim Partners \u0441\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0449\u0438\u043b\u0430<\/a> that its investment chief Scott Minerd died of a heart attack. He had previously repeatedly given forecasts about Bitcoin’s price.<\/p>\n

According to the press release, the 63-year-old Minerd died on December 21 during a workout. His duties will temporarily pass to the firm’s managing partner Anne Walsh.<\/p>\n

“Scott was a key innovator and thought leader who played a pivotal role in turning Guggenheim Investments into the global business it is today. He will be greatly missed by all,” said Mark Walter, founder of the firm.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Minerd frequently commented on Bitcoin’s price. In February 2021 he suggested that in the long term the price of Bitcoin could rise to $600,000<\/a>, however in April warned of a possible correction to $20,000<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amid May’s market crash<\/a>, Minerd called digital assets a bubble<\/a>. A month later Guggenheim Partners registered a fund<\/a> with the ability to invest in the first cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n

Earlier, in spring 2022, Minerd predicted<\/a> a drop in Bitcoin’s price to $8,000. Later he predicted<\/a> further contraction in the crypto market’s capitalization, as the industry had not yet cleaned up from problematic participants.<\/p>\n
