The upper end of the bids stood at $200 million.<\/p>\n<p>Hoskinson <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/digital-currency-group-halts-quarterly-dividend-payments\">noted<\/a> that he had not yet seen CoinDesk&#8217;s financial documents to make a final decision. In his view, the $200 million price tag was &#8220;a little high.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;I could afford it if I really wanted to,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Cardano founder <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/digital-currency-group-halts-quarterly-dividend-payments\">noted<\/a> an interest in media and said he wished to &#8220;find out how to return to journalistic integrity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the group, which also includes Grayscale Investments, the Genesis Global Capital lending platform,<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/digital-currency-groups-barry-silbert-enters-bitcoin-mining\"> mining company Foundry<\/a> and the cryptocurrency exchange Luno, suspended<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/digital-currency-group-halts-quarterly-dividend-payments\"> dividend payments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>DCG <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/financial-times-genesis-global-capital-owes-creditors-more-than-3-billion\">needs liquidity<\/a> amid Genesis Global Capital&#8217;s troubles. Genesis Global Capital <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/financial-times-genesis-global-capital-owes-creditors-more-than-3-billion\">owed $3 billion<\/a>, according to reports. The amount includes <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ft-reports-genesis-and-dcg-owe-gemini-clients-900-million\">claims from Gemini clients totaling $900 million<\/a>.
