It will be based on the assessment of the quality of reports confirming collateral, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-01-26\/credit-rater-moody-preps-crypto-stablecoins-scoring-system?sref=3REHEaVI\\\"> Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is at an early stage.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts intend to assign scores for 20 stablecoins. Assignment of a rating in the conventional sense of a rating agency is not envisaged.<\/p>\n<p>The interest is explained by regulators&#8217; and investors&#8217; heightened attention to the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg noted the<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/cftc-orders-bitfinex-and-tether-to-pay-civil-penalties-totaling-42-5-million\"> $41 million fine<\/a> paid by Tether Limited in October 2021 for \u201cfalse or misleading statements\u201d about full backing <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-tether-usdt\">USDT<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CryptoCompare <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/study-finds-market-share-of-algorithmic-stablecoins-fell-tenfold\">noted<\/a> a drop in the market share <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-algorithmic-stablecoins\">\u0430\u043b\u0433\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0435\u0439\u0431\u043b\u043a\u043e\u0438\u043d\u043e\u0432<\/a> from 12.4% in April 2022 to 1.71%. The <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/terras-death-spiral-how-and-why-luna-and-ust-collapsed\"> Terra USD<\/a> collapse was the cause. The incident prompted heightened attention from regulators worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen urged the approval of regulation<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/us-treasury-secretary-janet-yellen-comments-on-ust-stablecoin-incident\"> \u201cstablecoins\u201d<\/a> by the end of 2022.
