The next two scenes show algorithmically generated images, with mentions of Rinna engineers and AI developers from Osaka University.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years demand for new anime productions has risen sharply, but the industry has long suffered from a staff shortage, with workers unwilling to accept poor working conditions and low pay. <\/p>\n<p>In 2017, the illustrator Kazunori Mizuno, who worked on Naruto and Bleach, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejakartapost.com\/life\/2017\/04\/12\/ghost-fighter-naruto-animators-death-reportedly-caused-by-overworking-.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">died<\/a> while at work, reportedly from overwork. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/24\/business\/japan-anime.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">The New York Times<\/a> in 2021, wages for lower-ranked artists were only $200 a month, while higher-paid artists earned $1,400\u2013$3,800 per month.
