On January 22, in the preliminary vote, the community <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-community-backs-deployment-of-protocol-on-bnb-chain\">approved<\/a> the initiative. As the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-cross-chain-bridges\">cross-chain bridge<\/a> for connecting Ethereum and BNB Chain <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uniswap-community-selects-wormhole-cross-chain-bridge-to-link-ethereum-and-bnb-chain\">they chose<\/a> Wormhole.<\/p>\n<p>The runner-up was the LayerZero app, in which a16z <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/layerzero-omni-chain-protocol-team-raises-135-million-at-a-1-billion-valuation\">invested<\/a> in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Block sources, the venture firm did not participate due to &quot;custodial setup of its tokens&quot;. At the same time, the organisation noted that it intends to back the portfolio project.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cFor absolute clarity, we at a16z would vote for LayerZero, using 15 million tokens, if we had the technical capability. And we will gain such capability in future Snapshot votes,\u201d <a href=\\\"https:\/\/gov.uniswap.org\/t\/rfc-update-deploy-uniswap-v3-1-0-3-0-05-0-01-on-bnb-chain-binance\/19734\/77\\\">\u043d\u0430\u043f\u0438\u0441\u0430\u043b<\/a> partner Andreessen Horowitz Eddy Lazarin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Block&#8217;s head of research Steven Zheng noted that a16z voted against an Uniswap-linked proposal for the first time.
