Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak urged caution regarding ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI. He said this on channel CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In his words, the chatbot is “quite impressive” and “useful to people.” However it carries a number of serious problems.<\/p>\n

“The trouble is that it benefits us, but it can make horrific mistakes, not knowing what humanity is,” warned Wozniak.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He also drew a parallel with concerns surrounding AI technologies in autonomous vehicles. Wozniak added that today AI cannot replace drivers.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s like you\u2019re driving a car and you know what other cars can do right now, because you know people,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

ChatGPT has gained wide popularity of late. Just two months after launch, the service attracted 100 million active users.<\/p>\n

The chatbot\u2019s broad appeal stems from its ability to answer questions, sustain dialogue, compose poetry, and write code.<\/p>\n

In January, reports said Microsoft \u0438\u043d\u0432\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u0442\u044c \u0432 OpenAI<\/a> $10 billion. Less than two weeks later, the parties officially \u043e\u0431\u044a\u044f\u0432\u0438\u043b\u0438<\/a> a multibillion-dollar, multi-year partnership.<\/p>\n

Both companies have maintained close working relations for several years. In 2020, Microsoft announced a \u0437\u0430\u043a\u043b\u044e\u0447\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0438 \u0441\u0434\u0435\u043b\u043a\u0438<\/a> with the startup for exclusive licensing of its GPT-3 models. In return, OpenAI gained access to the company’s computing resources.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the California company’s developments underpinned a range of the tech giant’s products, including the AI-powered coding assistant GitHub Copilot<\/a> and the cloud service Azure OpenAI<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In February 2023, Microsoft \u0438\u043d\u0442\u0435\u0433\u0440\u0438\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043b\u0430 ChatGPT<\/a> into the Bing search service. In addition, the tech giant plans to integrate the startup’s developments into other products such as Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.<\/p>\n
