Reporting by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lavender_au?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@lavender_au<\/a>.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TRScgu4fd7\">https:\/\/t.co\/TRScgu4fd7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CoinDesk (@CoinDesk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CoinDesk\/status\/1635540406526963712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 14, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to documents reviewed by CoinDesk, the crypto holding Digital Currency Group (DCG) is trying to find new partners for its portfolio companies against the backdrop of problems <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/silvergate-to-liquidate-silvergate-bank\">Silvergate Bank<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/us-rescue-saves-svb-and-signature-bank-depositors-stablecoins-narrow-the-depegging\">Signature Bank<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/venture-capital-investors-distance-themselves-from-silicon-valley-bank-amid-liquidity-concerns\">Silicon Valley Bank (SVB)<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>DCG also approached BlackRock, JPMorgan and Bank of America, but apparently did not receive a satisfactory response. In addition, the holding sent requests to several international banks, including Revolut in the United Kingdom, United Overseas Bank in Singapore and Bank Leumi in Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The documents note that financial institutions may block certain services for crypto companies, such as brokerage services and the ability to transfer money to third parties. The degree of restrictions will depend on the level of vulnerability of the firms.<\/p>\n<p>On March 10, the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdic.gov\/news\/press-releases\/2023\/pr23016.html\">closed<\/a> Silicon Valley Bank and appointed the <span data-descr=\"Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)\" class=\"old_tooltip\">FDIC<\/span> as receiver. The reasons cited were &#8220;insufficient liquidity and insolvency&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>US regulators <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/us-rescue-saves-svb-and-signature-bank-depositors-stablecoins-narrow-the-depegging\">stated<\/a> that depositors would have access to their deposits on March 13, funded by shareholders and some holders of unsecured bonds.<\/p>\n<p>On March 11, against the backdrop of the collapse of SVB, the stablecoin <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/usdc-loses-peg-to-the-dollar-amid-svb-collapse\">USDC<\/a> and algorithmic &#8220;stablecoins&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-makerdao-mkr-and-the-dai-stablecoin\">DAI<\/a> and FRAX <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/algorithmic-dai-and-frax-lose-peg-to-the-us-dollar-following-usdc\">lost<\/a> their peg to the US dollar.
