Gates built Windows around the graphical user interface, creating software familiar to everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Now the businessman drew parallels with GPT models capable of writing convincing text and generating working code.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gates, in 2022 he challenged the OpenAI team to develop an AI algorithm capable of passing the Advanced Placement Biology test. The recently introduced GPT-4 <a href=\\\"https:\/\/openai.com\/research\/gpt-4\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener nofollow\\\" title=\\\"\\\">\u0437\u0430\u044f\u0432\u0438\u043b\u0438<\/a> developers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u00abThe whole experience was staggering. [\u2026] I knew I had just witnessed the most important technological progress since the graphical user interface,\u00bb wrote Gates.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that AI development is as fundamental as the creation of the microprocessor, the personal computer, the internet and the mobile phone. According to the billionaire, the technology will change the ways people interact, learn, and communicate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u00abAround it [AI] entire industries will reorient themselves. Businesses will stand out by how well they use it,\u00bb he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Gates also urged balancing the \u201cwell-founded\u201d fears about AI\u2019s drawbacks with its ability to improve people\u2019s lives.
