At the start of 2023 they were 10% higher \u2014 37,591, according to data from <a href=\"https:\/\/coinatmradar.com\/charts\/growth\/\">Coin ATM Radar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The leader in installed Bitcoin ATMs remains the United States \u2014 28,562 (84.6%). In second place in the ranking is Canada with 2,589 units or 7.7% of the total. Australia ranks third with 362 (1%).<\/p>\n<p>By manufacturer, General Bytes leads with 9,642 crypto ATMs (28.6%). In the second half of last year, only 94 new ATMs appeared, compared with 4,169 in January\u2013June.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2023, the Bitcoin ATM operator Coin Cloud <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-atm-operator-coin-cloud-files-for-bankruptcy\">filed for bankruptcy<\/a>. The company&#8217;s obligations to around 10,000 counterparties are estimated at between $100 million and $500 million.<\/p>\n<p>In the same month, West Yorkshire Police and the UK&#8217;s Financial Conduct Authority <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/british-authorities-raid-bitcoin-atms\">conducted raids<\/a> against illegal Bitcoin ATMs in the Leeds area.
