The Block reports.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers said that, for the past three months, they had tried unsuccessfully to serve the former basketball player with a summons. In response, the lawyers asked the judge to permit notification of O\u2019Neal via Twitter, Instagram and email, but were denied.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">You have been running from us for months &#038; all other FTX celebrities have agreed to receive their complaints. We have been outside your TNT studio in Atlanta all week, but your guards are not letting us deliver the summons,\u201d according to Moskowitz.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Sunday, April 16, lawyers managed to deliver the document to O\u2019Neal near his home in Atlanta. They claim the delivery was filmed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cNow Mr. O\u2019Neal is obliged to appear in federal court and explain to millions of followers his false FTX advertising campaign: I Am All In,\u201d said attorney Adam Moskowitz.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lawyers noted that O\u2019Neal remained the last among a group of celebrities being pursued for advertising FTX. Among them are former basketball player <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nba-star-stephen-curry-becomes-ambassador-for-the-ftx-cryptocurrency-exchange\">Stephen Curry<\/a>, star <span data-descr=\"National Football League\" class=\"old_tooltip\">NFL<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/nfl-star-tom-brady-becomes-investor-and-ambassador-of-the-crypto-exchange-ftx\">Tom Brady<\/a>, comedian <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-ftx-crypto-com-crypto-firms-post-record-super-bowl-advertising\">Larry David<\/a> and Japanese tennis player <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tennis-star-naomi-osaka-becomes-global-ambassador-for-ftx\">Naomi Osaka<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cMany people think I was involved, but I was just a paid spokesperson,\u201d O\u2019Neal said in a CNBC interview in December 2022.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In April 2023, the FTT token <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ftt-token-jumps-90-on-talks-of-restarting-ftx\">surged by 90%<\/a> after proposals for <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/former-ftx-executive-proposes-reviving-a-platform-to-trade-claims\">the revival of the Bitcoin exchange<\/a> to trade claims.
