Its head will be the lab&#8217;s chief executive Demis Hassabis. According to Pichai, he will \u201clead the development of our most capable and responsible general artificial intelligence systems.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWorking closely with our remarkable colleagues, we have a real opportunity to deliver AI research and products that significantly improve the lives of billions, transform industries, advance science, and serve diverse communities,\u201d said Hassabis.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that the creation of Google DeepMind will accelerate the development of advanced artificial intelligence systems:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSafe and responsible creation of ever more powerful and universal AI requires us to solve some of the most challenging scientific and engineering problems of our time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jeff Dean, the former senior vice president for research and health, will take on the role of Chief Scientist for Google Research and Google DeepMind.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, tensions between the corporation and its subsidiary surfaced. Media reports said that in 2021 DeepMind sought greater autonomy from Google. The tech giant refused, citing the unit\u2019s unprofitability.<\/p>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/267\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>However, in the third quarter, DeepMind posted its first-ever profit.<\/p>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/1006\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In February 2023, Google <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/in-response-to-chatgpt-google-unveils-bard\">\u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0441\u0442\u0430\u0432\u0438\u043b\u0430<\/a> Bard.
