The settings allow users to disable chat histories, preventing OpenAI from using them in training datasets.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/04\/28\/chatgpt-resumes-in-italy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">TechCrunch<\/a>, users in Italy now see a pop-up asking them to confirm they are of legal age. If a site visitor is between 13 and 17, they must provide parental or guardian consent to use ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian data protection authority welcomed the measures implemented. However, the regulator urged the company to comply with additional requirements.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis relates to the rollout of an age-check system, a campaign to inform Italians about what happened, and their right to opt out of data processing for training algorithms,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The supervisory authority hopes the startup will continue its efforts to comply with the <span data-descr=\"General Data Protection Regulation\" class=\"old_tooltip\">GDPR<\/span>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Italian regulator will continue its fact-finding work regarding OpenAI, also under the aegis of a special task force created by the European Data Protection Board,\u201d the conclusion states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Back in late March, Italian authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/italy-blocks-chatgpt-over-privacy-concerns\">blocked ChatGPT<\/a> due to possible data privacy violations.<\/p>\n<p>The company was given 20 days to address the issue.
