{"id":78649,"date":"2023-05-12T12:15:31","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T09:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=78649"},"modified":"2025-09-11T06:31:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T03:31:33","slug":"arbitrum-outlines-plan-to-distribute-arb-tokens-among-holders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/arbitrum-outlines-plan-to-distribute-arb-tokens-among-holders\/","title":{"rendered":"Arbitrum outlines plan to distribute ARB tokens among holders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Arbitrum layer-2 network community <a href=\"https:\/\/forum.arbitrum.foundation\/t\/distribution-of-dao-revenue-to-arb-token-holders\/14412\">proposed<\/a> to distribute part of the accumulated revenue <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-dao-decentralised-autonomous-organisation\">DAO<\/a> among ARB governance token holders.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent statement by the developers, the decentralized DAO has accumulated around 3,352 ETH from base and excess fees.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In total:<\/p>\n<p>The Arbitrum DAO has accumulated ~3,352 ETH in revenue,<br \/>The Sequencer will be refunded ~5,954 ETH which is the cost for posting all data to the Ethereum network.<\/p>\n<p>How exciting is that?<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Arbitrum (?,?) (@arbitrum) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/arbitrum\/status\/1656090371061956610?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 10, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Arbitrum is the only rollup that sends all excess revenue earned from fees to its DAO,&#8221; said representatives of the protocol.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <span data-descr=\"Arbitrum Improvement Proposal \u2014 \\\"Arbitrum Improvement Proposal\\\"\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AIP<\/span> says that the initiative will incentivize the community, and ARB itself will move beyond a \u201cuseless governance token.\u201d Rewards will be proportional to the number of coins delegated by each holder.<\/p>\n<p>To implement the idea, Arbitrum\u2019s developers will need to create a dedicated distribution mechanism. The smart contract can be launched repeatedly in the future.<\/p>\n<p>ARB holders must apply to participate in the distribution, but rewards will be available only to owners of delegated tokens. The DAO will provide details on the timing of the distribution later.<\/p>\n<p>In early April, the first AIP <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/the-arbitrum-communitys-first-governance-vote-failed\">sparked a number of complaints<\/a> from users. They largely concerned handing over control of 750 million ARB to the Arbitrum Foundation.
