It cited virtual AI hosts, fake studio scenes, fake news accounts, and the distortion of real stories.<\/p>\n<p>The CAC said it had already blocked 107,000 fake accounts and 835,000 items of misinformation. The regulator urged citizens to report fakes they encounter online.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Chinese police detained a man suspected of creating a fake news report about a train derailment using ChatGPT. He was charged with violating the AI-media law.<\/p>\n<p>The motive was to drive traffic.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?22\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/4109\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In January, China enacted a law that <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/china-bans-deepfakes-that-threaten-national-security\">bans the creation of deepfakes<\/a> without the subject&#8217;s consent or to the detriment of national interests.<\/p>\n<p>In April, the CAC <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/china-to-regulate-the-use-of-generative-ai\">published a draft of rules<\/a> aimed at regulating generative artificial intelligence algorithms.<\/p>\n<p>In the same month, Chinese tech giant Tencent <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/tencent-unveils-platform-for-creating-digital-humans\">unveiled a platform<\/a> for creating digital humans.
