We understand from our third party payment service provider that Bank\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Binance Australia (@Binance_AUS) <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Binance_AUS\/status\/1659018600496373760?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">May 18, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\\\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\\\" charset=\\\"utf-8\\\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to the company, the PayID AUD real-time bank transfer service, supported by over 100 institutions, has ceased functioning. The company intends to find an alternative provider.<\/p>\n<p>Users on the platform can withdraw funds in fiat, as well as buy and sell digital assets using Visa debit and credit cards. Binance P2P also continues to operate normally.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\">\n<p lang=\\\"en\\\" dir=\\\"ltr\\\">We have confirmed with our local payment partner that our users can continue to withdraw AUD and we will update with any further changes on timing as we know more. The move was taken as part of measures to protect customers from fraud.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>\u201cDigital asset exchanges must play a legitimate role. We have blocked access to some overseas platforms that are more commonly used for fraud,\u201d<\/em> said a bank spokesperson.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In April 2023, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/australian-regulator-cancels-binance-australia-derivatives-license\"> cancelled<\/a> the local Binance crypto-exchange&#8217;s license to provide financial services. Until 21 April, Binance Australia Derivatives users were required to close all derivative positions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the company<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/binance-to-wind-down-operations-in-canada-amid-tighter-regulation\"> announced<\/a> its withdrawal from Canada due to tighter requirements on trading platforms in the country.<\/p>\n<p>On 27 March 2023 the <span data-descr=\\\"U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">CFTC<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/cftc-files-suit-against-binance-and-changpeng-zhao\">filed<\/a> a lawsuit against the bitcoin exchange and its CEO Changpeng Zhao, accusing it of unregistered trading of derivatives, providing services to U.S. citizens and sanctioned individuals, and failing to comply with anti-money-laundering rules.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In response, Binance chief Zhao<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/changpeng-zhao-calls-cftc-lawsuit-unexpected-and-disappointing\"> stated<\/a> that the CFTC&#8217;s allegations contain an incomplete presentation of the facts, and his company disagrees with the characterization of many points.
