This was warned by Binance&#8217;s <span data-descr=\\\"Head of Security\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">CSO<\/span> Jimmy Su, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/binance-rise-in-deepfake-customer-checks-verification\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener nofollow\\\" title=\\\"\\\">Cointelegraph<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to him, there is a rise in the number of criminals employing the technology to bypass the exchange&#8217;s customer verification processes.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\\&#8221;The hacker will look for a normal photo of the victim somewhere on the Internet. Based on that, using deepfakes he can create videos to bypass the verification,\\&#8221; Su said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The senior executive added that advanced tools can already respond correctly to audio prompts intended for real-time customer verification.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\\&#8221;Some checks require the user, for example, to blink with the left eye or look left, right, up or down. Deepfakes today are advanced enough to carry out these commands\\&#8221;, he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>However, Su is confident that at the current stage of development, fraudsters will not be able to fool the human operator.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\\&#8221;When we look at these videos, there are certain moments that are noticeable to the naked eye. \u2026 But AI will overcome them in time. So we cannot always rely on this,\\&#8221; he concluded.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Su also commented on a situation where hackers <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/hackers-used-a-deepfake-in-a-binance-listing-scam\">used a deepfake<\/a> featuring the image of Binance&#8217;s <span data-descr=\\\"Head of Corporate Regulatory and Compliance\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">CCO<\/span> Patrick Hillmann in a series of Zoom calls with investors.
