A key feature of the chip is the dedicated neural engine Versatile Processing Unit (VPU), according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.computerbase.de\/2023-05\/intel-meteor-lake-cpu-mit-vpu-einheit-fuer-kuenstliche-intelligenz-im-hands-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">ComputerBase<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meteor Lake is a client CPU of the new generation with a disaggregated chiplet design. The company showcased the processor (designated as Intel 0000) with 16 cores and support for 22 threads.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/wccftech.com\/intel-meteor-lake-prototype-computex-2023-sneak-peak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Wccftech<\/a>, it operates in a configuration with six high-performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and two dedicated to the <span data-descr=\"System-on-a-Chip \u2014 system on a chip\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SoC<\/span>. The final CPU version will belong to the Meteor Lake-P series.<\/p>\n<p>The chip runs at 0.37 GHz with a base frequency of 3.1 GHz. Data: Intel.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition, the VPU will be capable of supporting generative AI models, including Stable Diffusion. While such algorithms can run on any compute device with sufficient memory, leveraging CPU\/GPU\/APU capabilities will significantly accelerate neural networks.<\/p>\n<p>Intel has forged partnerships with GIMP and Adobe to add neural-engine support to their products.<\/p>\n<p>The Meteor Lake capabilities demo shows image generation using Stable Diffusion through the GIMP editor. A plugin was used to upscale the result. Both technologies rely on Intel&#8217;s OpenVINO deep-learning library.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Intel Meteor Lake VPU-Demo\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JZIsK2lqTBo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The mobile Meteor Lake chips are expected to launch by the end of 2023.
